The wind was up and the lead has changed in both the boys and girls division of the Vaughn Taylor Championship at Mount Vintage Golf Course in North Augusta, SC.  Blake Henriques has surged to a one-shot lead for the boys while Macy Pate takes the lead in the girls division.

Henriquez sits at -4 and has a one shot lead over Moses Compan and Kelvin Hernandez, and a two shot lead over Evan Woosley-Reed.

Henriquez birdied three of the first five holes and despite four bogeys, managed to move into the lead registering a -1 (71). The top 11 golfers are separated by just four shots.

Pate was the story of the day for the girls as she fired a bogey free 67 and is now -8. First round leader Maelynn Kim struggled with a 76 today and is now -4 and in second place. Thanana Kotchasanmanee is the only other girl ateven par or better.

Pate, from Winston Salem, NC registered a 57 in a tournament earlier this year as she chases the championship.

Sunday’s tee time will again start at 8 a.m.
