May 30, 2024 – The 2024 Vaughn Taylor Championship presented by James Hardie is scheduled for June 9-13, 2024 at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Evans, Ga. This year’s field promises to be one of the toughest fields in any open AJGA event this year and will be made up of 78 juniors from across the world. There will be 51 boys and 27 girls in the final field. Nine of these players will be selected from the 78-person qualifier held on June 9th with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.

Monday, June 10 will be the official practice round for the players with the Jim Burton Memorial Junior-AM teeing off at approximately 1:00 PM. Twenty-two teams made up of 3 sponsors or invited guests each will be paired with a junior from the tournament field. The winning team will be crowned and the awards presented at the Bartram Trail clubhouse immediately after the Junior-AM.

Applications by 170 boys and 88 girls were received for the 51 and 27 slots respectively. There were 213 applicants for the 78 qualifier slots for a chance at 9 entries to the tournament.
The Vaughn Taylor Championship is a 54-hole stroke play competition and tees off at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 11 with the third and final round Thursday, June 13. After the first two days of play, the field will be repaired based on scores for the final round. The winners will be recognized as well as many other awards presented at the clubhouse at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The entire Tournament is open to spectators, players’ families and all volunteers free of charge. Guests will have access to the clubhouse for refreshments and food purchase.
The AJGA selected the 2023 Vaughn Taylor Championship to receive the 2023 Volunteer Award, which will be presented during the tournament week. A single tournament is recognized annually to receive this award. It is a great acknowledgement of the Bartram Trail community and members as well as long time tournament volunteers to be able to earn this award at the tournament’s first year at Bartram Trail Golf Club.

During the tournament history, the AJGA has selected the Vaughn Taylor Championship to receive eight previous AJGA tournament awards. Each year, the AJGA recognizes tournament committees and individuals who produce outstanding work during the previous AJGA season in 15 categories. The Vaughn Taylor Championship’s honors include the 2012 and 2015 Hospitality Awards, the 2014, 2017 and 2020 Volunteer Awards, the 2017 Golf Executive of the Year for Ray Mundy of Jones Creek Golf Club, the 2011 Game Changer Award, and the 2013 Open Tournament of the Year Award.
